F1 Boston’s Summer Adult Outdoor League
Round Three Report
East Bridgewater, MA (July 25, 2012) – Three rounds of F1 Boston’s Adult Outdoor League at F1 Outdoors are completed and at the season’s halfway point, great competition is shaping up in the standings. The Adult
Outdoor League features six rounds of racing in two weight divisions with each round consisting of a practice session and three 12-lap heats. Each driver’s best five rounds count towards qualifying for the season-ending Championship Race. Here’s a round up of the action: In the heavyweight division David Roger posted his best round of the season, earning 39 points by winning his first two heats, taking third in the final and a fast lap point. The strong round moves Roger into third place in the season standings with 77 points. Mark Keene remains the man to beat, grabbing 37 points with a win in his final heat, plus second and third in the others as well as a fast point. With 108 points, Keene remains in first place for the season. Mark Morin posted a second straight 27-point round to land third place, powered by taking second in his last two heats and a fast lap – he’s second for the season with 90 points. Luri Cartev earned 22 points and fourth place in the round with top five finishes in all three heats. Peter Sigourney rounded out the top five with 16 points. In the series standings, Stephan Rampuni – 15 points in the round – is in fourth place at 59 and Gregory Cusato (17 points in the round) is fifth with 58.
In lightweight, Marco Brunicardi won his third consecutive round with 36 points fueled by a win in heat #2, taking second in the final and fourth in the first, plus two fast laps. At 111, he leads the field by 32 points in the season-long points chase. Nicholas Leung took second with 30 points including a win in the first heat and fourth in the others. With 63 points Leung is tied with Jacob Scott (17 points in the round) for fourth place in the standings. Jose Pimentel was third with 27 points in a round highlighted by placing second in the first two heats. Alexander Gomes and Sean Neal each earned 18 points for a share of fourth. Neal’s round was highlighted by a win in the final heat, while Gomes took third in the first heat and fifth in the final heat. Gomes is third in the standings, just a point ahead of Leung and Scott.
