F1 Boston 2012 Fall Frenzy Adult League: Round 2 Report
Mark Morin (HW) & Fred Fawcett (LW) Claim Victory
Braintree, Ma (October 11, 2012) – Round 2 of F1 Boston’s Adult Fall Frenzy League is in the books and it’s shaping up to be another great season of competition for newcomers and seasoned racers alike. Each of the League’s six rounds starts with a qualifying session, followed by two 30-lap races and a 40-lap final. The winners of the round were Mark Morin in the Heavyweight division and Fred Fawcett in Lightweight. Here is a peek at the highlights:
In his first round of the season, Mark Morin grabbed top honors in Heavyweight by winning the first heat, taking second in the middle round and third in the final to earn 36 points. Ronald LeDuc scored 31 points to land second; he won the second heat and placed fourth in the others, plus a fast lap. LeDuc is second in the standings with 60 points. David Burton was third, earning 27 points by placing second in the first heat, placing fourth in heat #2 and fifth in the final – he remains in third for the season with 55 points. John Chetwynd scored 26 points and fourth place highlighted by winning the final. He’s on top of the season-long points chase with 61 points, just a point up on the field. Mike Provencher rounded out the top five with 25 points including third place results in the first two heats – with 52 points, he’s fourth in the standings. David Olbrych (22 points in the round) is fifth for the series at 44.
In Lightweight, Fred Fawcett came away with the victory in a highly competitive round. He won the first heat and took third in the final plus two fast laps to score 27 points; Fawcett is fourth in the standings with 52 points. Alex Faust was just a point back at 26, highlighted by winning heat #2 and placing fourth in the first. With 59 points, Faust is second in the standings. Round 1 winner David Rodger had another strong round to grab third place and 25 points by winning the final and taking third in heat #2 – he stays atop the leader board at 61. Jacob Scott was next with 24 points powered by landing second in heat #2 and fifth in the others; he remains fifth in the standings with 47 points. Just a point back 23 and fifth for the round was Peter Sigourney, highlighted by a victory in the first heat – with a 56-point total, he’s third for the season.
