Round 5 Report: F1 Boston’s 2011 Fall Frenzy Adult League

Braintree, Ma (November 17, 2011) – Round 5 of F1 Boston’s Fall Frenzy Adult League was completed Monday night – and with just 1 round left in the season, competition for top spots in the standings is getting
intense. The winners of the three-heat contest – two 30-lap races and a 40-lap final – were Robert Bain in the heavyweight division and Jacob Scott in lightweight. Here are some highlights: Heavyweight division winner Robert Bain had another strong performance, highlighted by winning the first heat and the final, taking fourth in the other heat and earning fast lap bonus point for a total of 37. Bain continues to build on his commanding lead in the season standings – at 190 he has a 73-point advantage over second place. In his best round of the season, Emilio Lapiello took second with 25 points, highlighted by a win in the second heat and a third in the main event. Third place was a tie between two racers, with Viken Mardirossian and Darryl Johnson both earning 24 points. Mardirossian’s round featured a second place finish in the final and top fives in the heats – the round moved him into fourth place in the standings at 100. Johnson took second in the first heat and fourth in the final – his best round of the season. Michael Medici rounded out the top 5 with 20 points highlighted by a second place result in the second heat. Gregory Cusato (18 points) and Peter Sigourney (12 points) are tied for second in the standings at 117.
In the Lightweight division Jacob Scott was impressive – winning the round on the power of wins in the first heat and the final, fourth in the other heat and earning a fast lap bonus point for a 37-point total. His best round of the season bumped him up two spots in the standings; he’s now in third at 130. Rich Hemingway earned second place in the round by taking second in the final, as well as a third and fourth in the heats for 30 points. He’s second in the standings, just 6 points off the pace at 137. Alex Faust took third with 27 points featuring a second in the first heat and third in the main event. He sits one step off the podium in fourth place for the season at 123. Series leader Jay Hanscom was next with 24 points by placing top five in all three races – he sits on top of the standings with 143 points. Paul Minichiello rounded out the top five with 23 points fueled by a victory in the second heat. The result moves him into fifth place in the standings.
