2011 Fall Frenzy Round 2

 

Braintree, Ma (October 11, 2011) – Round 2 of F1 Boston’s Fall Frenzy Adult League is in the books – the competition was hot once again in both divisions. The winners of the three-heat contest – two 30-lap races and a 40-lap final – were Gregory Cusato in the heavyweight division and Jay Hanscom in lightweight. Here are some highlights:

            Heavyweight division winner Gregory Cusato won in impressive fashion – winning the second heat and the final, as well as grabbing two fast lap bonus points for a total of 34. The victory catapulted him from sixth place to a tie for second in the standings with a total of 48 points. Second place went to John Heintz, who took a second place in the second heat and third in the final and, along with a fast lap point, scored 29 points. The round moved him from 8^th place to 4^th in the standings at 40 points.   Robert Bains, who entered the round at the top of the standing, kept the top spot with 28 points highlighted by a second in the main event.   Rounding out the top 5 were Viken Mardirossian with 23 points and Emilio Lapiello with 18. 

            Lightweight driver Jay Hanscom took honors in Round 2, earning second place in heat #2 and a win in the final, plus a fast lap point for a total of 32. The effort moved him up from 4^th to second in the standings with 56 points.  Robert Lang won the first heat and a fast lap, to take second place with 26 points and maintain his top spot in the standings just 4 points in front of the pack at 60. Rich Hemingway earned third place in the round with 25 points, highlighted by a third place in both the first heat and the final. Paul Minichiello’s 22 points were good for fourth and Alex Faust won the second heat to land in fifth place for the round, keeping him at third in the standings.
