F1 Boston’s Winter Adult Pro League: Round Two Report
Braintree, MA (February 13, 2012) – Round two of F1 Boston’s Winter Adult Pro League was held on February 3rd and the competition throughout the standings is starting to heat up already. Here’s a look at the action:
 
Heavy Weight Division
In the heavyweight division, Ray Kobs took the top spot with 38 points powered by winning the second heat and place second in the others, plus a fast lap bonus point. The strong round jumps Kobs into second place in the standings at 63. John Hintze finished second – he won the first heat, placed third in the final and fifth in the other heat to earn 30 points and maintain the top spot in the standings with 68 points. Richard Blanchard was next with 27 points, highlighted by winning the final heat. He’s tied for third in the standings at 58 points. Jay Hanscom was fourth with 26 points highlighted by placing second in heat #2. He’s tied with Blanchard for third in the season-long standings. Marco Brunicardi was fifth with 20 points.
 
Light Weight Division
In the lightweight division Joseph Mega scored the highest one round point total of the young season. He earned 43 points by winning the first and third heats, placing second in the middle session and also tacked on three fast lap bonus points.  The impressive outing moves him from fourth to first in the standings with 67 points. Alexander Gomes has a strong round, earning second place with 32 points by placing third in the first two heats and second in the final. He’s fourth in the standings at 47. Arnold Milks was next with top five finishes across the board – he moves into fifth place in the standings with 39 points. Rob Johnson and Richard Hemingway each earned 22 points to round out the fast five. Johnson is second in the season long points chase at 61 and Hemingway is tied for sixth with 35.
 
Round three for the Pro League is slated for February 17th. The F1 Boston Adult Winter League offers racing in three classes: Pro, Sprint and Rookie. Each class offers six rounds of competition – rounds include a practice session and three races. Points are earned towards a season-ending Final Championship Race, with the top 6 drivers in each weight class advancing to the Finals. The format includes one race drop; five of the six rounds count towards determining who makes it to the Championships. All races take place at F1 Boston, a state-of-the-art facility featuring two top-notch, European styled courses. Here are the current Pro League standings:
