F1 Boston’s Winter Adult League: Rookie Round Three Report
Braintree, MA (February 22, 2012) – Round three of F1 Boston’s Adult Rookie League took Heavy Weight Division In the heavyweight division, David Rogers took honors with a division best round of 39 points – he won the final event after placing second in the first two heats, plus a fast lap point. Remains the series leader with 92 points. Second place was a deadlock between Samual Bradley and Stephan Ramponi at 30 points. Bradley’s round was highlighted with winning the first heat and placing second, while Ramponi won heat #2 and placed third in the final. With 84 points, Bradley is second in the season-long standings and Ramponi is third just two points back. Wayne Penn was fourth with 23 points including a third in heat #1 and fourth in heat #2. Penn is fifth in the standings with 73 points. Michael Egasti rounded out the top five with 22 points, finishing top five on all three heats. He’s fourth in the season standings at 76 points. Light Weight Division The lightweight division first and second place was decided by a single point. Jonathan Zombeck prevailed with 42 points powered by winning his first two heats and taking second in the final, plus two fast lap points. Zombeck is second in the standings with 110 points. Just a point off the pace was Sean Neal, winning his first and final heats, placing second in the middle race, plus a fast lap. He’s on top of the leader board at 119. Third place went to Anthony Cuddemi, placing third in heat #1 and second in his other two races for 34 points. Cuddemi is fifth in the standings with 79 points. Joseph Fonseca was fourth, winning his first heat, placing third and fourth in the other two, plus a fast lap for 33 points. Toby Bloom earned the fifth spot in the round with top fives in each heat for 27 points. Bloom’s third in the standings with 90 points. Steven Carvalho with 20 points in the round is fourth in the standings. The F1 Boston Adult Winter League offers racing in three classes: Pro, Sprint and Rookie. All three offer six rounds of competition – each round features a practice session and three races – points are earned towards a season ending Final Championship Race, with the top 6 drivers in each weight class advancing to the Finals. The format includes one race drop; five of the six rounds count towards determining who makes it to the Championships. All races take place at F1 Boston, a state-of-the-art facility featuring two top-notch, European styled courses.
