F1 Boston’s Summer Endurance Race Series Championship round took place last Saturday at the world-class F1 Outdoors, with the Grala Racing team finishing on top. A field of 15 teams took to the track for the Championship Round – the top 4 teams from each of the Series four rounds were eligible for the 3-hour event. Grala Racing teammates Darius Grala and Steve Hathaway grabbed their invitation by taking third in the first round.

Grala Racing earned the title by completing 156 laps on the 1.5 mile layout.  In a shoot out for second place the Karting Overload team of Richard Hemingway and Rob Johnson prevailed, logging 154 laps. Third place went to Team Threshold Racing’s Sean Siff and Bret Bogart, who also booked 154 laps finishing just behind Karting Overload. Team Threshold Racing earned a trip to the Championship by winning round 1, and Karting Overload punched their ticket to the finals with a victory in Round 2.
Rounding out the top six spots were Team Stig’s Jacob Scott and Juan Uribe (4th), Stellor team of Steve Sarnecki and Scott James (5th) and Wild Duck Racing’s Jay Dennehey and Glen Zimmerman (6th).  Each team completed 154 laps.
