F1 Boston’s Adult Rookie League Report: Round 2
Braintree, MA (February 14, 2011) – Round 2 of F1 Boston’s Adult Rookie League is now in the books. The excitement picked right up where it left off in the first round – with many drivers making moves to shake up the standings. Here’s a re-cap of the action:
Heavy Weight Division
Among the heavyweight field of 16, Paul Marino maintained his place in the lead. He once again had the best round, this time with 30 points to build a five-point lead and a total of 66. Josh Paulin earned 28 points to
jump up a spot into second place at 61. Powered by a 29-point outing, Mark Keene went from fifth to third, just 3 points behind Paulin. Peter Rokol’s solid round earned him 25 points to keep the fourth spot, just a point back at 57. Nick Derosa, with a 22-point round, stayed in the top five, just one point behind Rokol.Light Weight Division
The 12-driver field in the lightweight division was again highlighted by a dominant performance by Nicholas Fontana. Earning 44 points, he beat the field by ten and, with an 87-point total, is clear of the closest competitor by 13. Nicholas Leung kept hold of the second spot, earning 34 for and a total of 74. Riley Rodger turned in his second 34-point round to maintain third place, six back of Leung. James Cataldo’s 22 keeps him in the fourth spot at 52, while Srinivas Nagesh’s 25 jumps him up to claim the fifth position with 49 points.
The F1 Boston Adult Winter League offers racing in three classes: Pro, Sprint and Rookie. All three offer six rounds of competition – each round features a practice session and three races – points are earned towards a season ending Final Championship Race, with the top 6 drivers in each weight class advancing to the Finals. The format includes one race drop; five of the six rounds count towards determining who makes it to the Championships. All races take place at F1 Boston, a state-of-the-art facility featuring two top-notch, European styled courses.
