Braintree, Ma (October 2, 2014) – Round two of F1 Boston’s Fall Adult Open Racing Series took place this week with a large field and some hard-charging competition. The Fall Open Racing Series consists of seven stand-alone rounds that feature a 10-lap practice session followed by three 30-lap races. Drivers compete in groups of 10 or less – there were two groups for round two.
Here’s a look at the highlights:
Running in Group 2, Luis Junior claimed the victory by winning the final after finishing second in the first two heats plus a fast lap, to earn 39 points. Shaun Abbate, running in the first group, took second at 38 – like Junior, he won his final and placed second in the others. Jamie Dutra took third by winning Group 2’s first heat then placing third and second in the last two races, respectively plus a fast lap. David Burton was next with 35 points including wins in Group 1’s two heats and fifth in the final plus a fast lap. Shane Corbett and Michael Glover finished in a 30-point fifth-place tie – Corbett won Group 2’s middle heat, placed third in heat #1 and fifth in the final while Glover, in Group 1, took second in final, third in heat #1 and fourth in the middle heat.
Round 3 is slated for Monday, October 13, 2014.
